Template assessment

The source 2004 election-year contrast reproduces, but the regression also includes first-term-mayor interactions for 2002 and 2003. Retaining those controls alongside the template’s full event-time path and 2003 reference creates exact linear dependencies. The reported source coefficient is relative to 2001, not the template’s minus-one baseline. A dedicated normalization is required; no arbitrarily normalized event coefficient or imputation comparison enters calibration.

No comparison point or homogeneity-test decision is assigned to this paper.
